The Dauntless crew find themselves facing another tough mission: a Thedes-Korso refinery fell under the control of a raider gang, requiring the Dauntless to break into the company's own facility. However, once inside, the crew faces a tough moral choice — without the support of Interim Captain Astra Simmons. The crew finds success, and loss, at the hands of the raiders, ultimately regaining the expensive explosive matter. Captain Astra Simmons is fired.
As the Dauntless is called for another mission, they're informed of their newest captain: Wesley McCree, Chief Security Officer of These-Korso. He promptly makes many changes via his "McCree Decrees" including uniform changes, position reassignment at random, musical chairs and talent shows. The mission is completed, sort of. Captain Wesley McCree is fired.
the crew sets out to help a researcher retrieve his stolen data from some local thugs, as well as his kidnapped roommate. the crew is successful in retrieving the data after a skirmish. and the roommate. who happens to be a dog.
After stealing data from Auhiri and stopping an assassination attempt, an Aev'ik operative finally catches up to Eli and holds him hostage. The Sparrowhawk crew are forced into a jailbreak in order to free him. But the trade goes poorly and the crew are forced to defend their ship when the operative and their cohorts attempt to commandeer it.
While trying to meet a deadline for ship inspection, S.A.R.A. makes a duplicate of herself to speed up the work and puts it in her spare android unit. But her copy becomes malcontent with her lot in life, and decides to switch things up by swapping bodies. Leaving a trail of chaos throughout the station, the crew has to clean up after her. They finally catch up when she's cornered by a bounty hunter, and fight to keep her from getting caught or getting away with her original body.
Peacekeeper Charley XCII hosts a fundraising event for Jermaine's Fund, a program for at-risk kids, inviting Terminus residents to participate in a Dance-a-thon lasting over 48 hours.
The Wonderland Lounge in Nova Heights hosts a special Valentine's Day event, inviting singles, couples, and those entered into or bidding on the charity date auction arranged by anya lockhart.
arriving at the watery planet naxaron, the endeavor receives a distress call from a finusian exploration vessel, the uul'xys. a rescue team is launched to recover the crew from the sunken ship at the bottom of the vast ocean. their attempt is aided by a princess of the native species, who invites them to her hidden kingdom, t'lan'tyda. although their initial attempt at diplomacy is rebuffed, the crew winds up helping the locals with a monstrous problem, and eventually win over the trust of the lan'tydans, who decide to reopen their borders to outsiders.
it turns out that data is pretty easy to steal, as the crew is contacted to once again retrieve some stolen information. though this time it pertains to a very strong, very dangerous bomb that has been stolen by the company's own CEO. through brawn and hacking, the crew was able to defeat security bots, dismantle the bomb, and delete all of the research pertaining to the bomb to avoid a second version. all that, and they walked away without being paid.
the sparrowhawk crew are invited to a wonderful party by immanuel thedes, but all is not what it seems. there are familiar, unpleasant faces to confront, and eventually a murder to solve. but the sparrowhawk crew aren't just talented thieves - they make some fantastic detectives too, and after solving the crime must fight their way through thedes' smarthome to bring the killer to justice.
the crew escorts renowned glf speaker bertie neltram through the streets of nibiru, acting as transportation and eventually security as they quickly learn there's a price on her head.
What starts as a walk in the park to rescue a few missing park wardens turns deadly when night falls in the Nytt Fjall reserve. Strange ancient clues lead the crew to discover an ancient village and their not-so ancient "monster".
the wayfarer crew goes on tour with celebrity chef amos boucher. setting off from terminus, they make stops along the way to their final destination at antillia, where their passenger will be the guest of honor at the elysium food & wine festival and the crew is treated to a paid vacation day off.
Nat hasn't been feeling like herself lately. After a fainting spell at Cosmo's, she awakens the next day to find she remembers nothing of the past year. It's up to the Sparrowhawk crew to find out what's going on by traveling to Memoria on Babylon, a memory-alteration company created by the man who once tried to ruin Nat's life. They follow leads to an outpost in orbit around Scheria, and must fight their way through their own memories in order to restore Nat's.
the annual spring fling festival starts earlier and lasts longer this year! it's a great time for all to unwind, mingle, hunt for eggs, and make new friends under the cherry blossoms!
things turn a little personal for the crew of the traveler when the captain is asked by his 'father' to investigate and attempted hacking. upon arrival, the crew finds themselves at a laboratory that specializes in offering the 'perfect' clone to rich clients. during their investigation, the captain goes missing and the crew sets out to find him. as they search, they discover that not all is as it seems with the company, and nor is all as it seems with their captain. after some altercations with security, they manage to locate lucas and bring him back to the safety of the ship, as well as eliminating all digital trace of their own dna codes from the systems (and scrambling the systems in general).
under the leadership of their new commander roya veisi, the endeavor travels through the gateway to station qhel on a diplomatic mission to meet with the yoced. unfortunately, negotiations go awry when it's revealed the yoced have been copied and replaced by a tech-based race called the nok, who then attempt to infiltrate the crew. after uncovering the deception, the crew fights their way off the station.
the sparrowhawk and wayfarer transport two guests beyond the gate to an uwus research outpost on a planet populated by wonderful and rare alien creatures akin to old earth dinosaurs. the crews take educational safaris and relax as they enjoy the marvelous planet, but are interrupted by the selfish actions of an uwus associate who unleashes chaos, and it's up to the crews to protect the dinosaurs and restore balance.
the traveler is hired to locate a missing man, who seems to have locked himself away in his family's derelict amusement park. after exploring the park and facing down some terrifying former mascots, the crew is able to locate their missing man and convince him to leave the park behind. he's not happy about the decision, but gives in to his brother's plans to destroy the park and rebuild it as something new. the crew leaves with a new apprehension toward animal animatronics and oh, almost everyone got a new cat.
After a tip leads the crew to a forgotten moon off Skubb, the Dauntless becomes the very same villains and knaves they track down: pirates! After a run-in with some new mateys, the crew manages to survive a scuffle on the poop deck and captures the captain of the pirate ship Corsair to bring her to justice!
nothing says team bonding like a good ol' fashioned shoot-out! the crew logs in to a virtual reality that mirrors the wild west of days gone by where they race horses, duel in the streets, and rob a locomotive all in the name of camaraderie.
the crew are picked up again by the ghols, and this time they find themselves in the world of film noir. they live their noir trope lives, but a murder has been committed, and the only way to regain their memories and escape from the simulation is to solve it!
anya lockhart hosts her second annual charity gala in nova heights, this time raising funds for the universal wildlife upkeep society (uwus), an intergalactic organization committed to protecting endangered species and their habitats all across the universe. it's a night of glamor and guest speakers!
the endeavor receives a tip from old friends to explore tidlosa, supposedly the location of a lost laboratory run by the creators of the gateway tech, and a lead to the timesphere. unfortunately, an ill fate awaits several of the crew as they traverse their way through dangerous ruins. just as things seem especially dire, the activation of device traps the crew in a time loop, until they find the means to break the cycle and escape.
co-pilot happy hapner receives terrible news about his brother, leading him to pursue the truth about the deaths of his parents years ago. the wayfarer accompanies him through the gateway to a small colony. after fighting their way past some henchwomen working for smuggler averyz karzen, the crew question the locals and uncover the real and tragic fate of happy's mother.
after wayfarer's doctor nate burket is attacked in their home and rendered comatose, evan axelrod and the traveler crew set out to find a cure for the poisonous drug in his system. their search leads to a dead end; however, evan continued her search and found a new lead and an old connection to nate. the combined crews work together to infiltrate a glf safe house and secret lab, fight their way through and retrieve a sample of the drug to cure burket.
Feed me, Terminus! The station saw an abundance of overgrowth when a local botanist let loose a carnivorous plant with plans for domination! After a few weeks of plant-based turmoil, the station came together to defeat Od'ree and put the stations back together — clowns back in the circus, ROUSes back in the sewer, and cutting back the grabby vines! Dr. Myshn'x was apprehended and charged.
the sparrowhawk and argus crews end up captured by a thedesbot out for revenge - and trapped in an arena called the colosseum, famous for its bloody gladiator battles on antillia. they're forced to fight for their lives against terrifying opponents with little time for recovery. after claiming victory break out and take the colosseum down with them.
In anticipation of the upcoming Anniversary Week on Terminus, the Wayfarer has been hired to pick up supplies and shipments for the big celebration from Mahoroba, as well as passengers aboard in ship owner Vaughn Fincher's nephews and guests. While all seems to go according to schedule, a simple job becomes a lot more complicated on the way home, forcing the ship to make a quick return to the planet.
terminus station's anniversary week is back and bigger than ever! enjoy the new apple orchard, eat some baked goods, see a concert, buy some sale items, and find a seat for the fireworks show at the end of the week. there's something fun to do for everyone! Although nothing runs completely afoul, one notable wrinkle in the week comes when so-called self-help group healers of genesis host a controversial rally.
While the Endeavor look for the source of a friendly distress beacon, and the Dauntless tracks down a stolen device, they find themselves guests of the strange elusive Vikomt Vadu. After being locked in with monsters, the two crews make their escape before Vadu can make them all a part of his permanent collection!
the station is in trouble again. c.a.l. has returned with a vengeance, and this time the a.i. is hellbent on bringing an end to all life on terminus, and attacking its fellow artificial intelligences, who it deems as traitors to the cause. terminus residents struggle as the station goes through multiple malfunctions, until everything comes to a head and c.a.l. gains enough control to attempt to send terminus hurtling into malm.
cass sawyer's secrets have finally come to bite him in the ass. he disappears from terminus and the wayfarer follows, determined to bring him home, and determined to help free him from a past that won't be stopped. together they have a final showdown with aia infiltrator viviette luitgarde - and she's taken out by one of her own agents. the crew recuperates on mahoroba, and finally free, cass & lilian decide to celebrate their wedding and stay, retiring from the wayfarer.
